Mieyoshi Ragernoir is a local, but Harlem-born painter, muralist, and mixed-media installation artist. Mieyoshi creates celebratory paintings archiving the connections of people, joy, and heritage; predominantly portraits highlighting the radiance of Black femininity. Beyond capturing the vibrant essence of Black femininity, Ragernoir's artwork illuminates her visual commentary and social lens on Black American history and how it presents itself in contemporary art and culture. As a Harlem native who grew up in the West Bronx, both communities' vibrant styles, languages, and essence heavily influence and shape Ragernoir’s paintings.
In 2022, Mieyoshi Ragernoir received her MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, building upon her BFA in Drawing & Painting earned from Pratt Institute in 2019. Mieyoshi is actively building her paint archive as an independent artist working out of her private production studio.
