Wobbles are born out of an alternative perception of reality: that inorganic objects are alive. This family of beings share essential properties, but are individually distinct. Each spin, gyrate, and roll in unique ways. Their playful color pallets and patterns mirror their physical motions, accentuating their distinct personalities. Each wobble is precision machined in order to calibrate its behavior.

These works are a collaboration between Brandon Clifford and Jo Lobdell of Matter Design, an interdisciplinary art practice dedicated to shifting contemporary behaviors. Matter Design illustrates alternatives to default contemporary practices by unearthing mindsets from prehistory. Matter Design’s embrace of spectacle and mystery defines the uniquely playful and whimsical work.
