Staff, Community Art Program

Iggy Sumnik is a multimedia artist who creates abstract and identifiable work through ceramic sculpture. After receiving his BFA from Detroit’s Wayne State University in 2004, Iggy completed a three-year apprenticeship with artist Jun Kaneko in 2008. Iggy enriches his community through arts education and has assisted in developing art programs at a variety of facilities. Iggy’s strong track record exhibiting and selling his work is due in part to maintaining his studio practice, inspired to return to it daily by the world that challenges and surrounds him. Iggy is represented by Modern Arts Midtown in Omaha, Nebraska and Costello Childs Gallery in Arizona and Colorado.
